About Swiss Strength

Who are we?
Swiss Strength was founded in 2010 in Switzerland by mother and son team Lynda & James Guiney before moving to the UK and expanding the business.
Fifteen years on, the business operates across 15 countries from its UK base in Winchester — designing and installing strength training environments ranging from ski chalets and superyachts to large commercial gym chains.
That breadth of experience shows up in the details: structural planning, international freight, customs, currency, and where the road runs out — helicopter and snowmobile delivery included.

Founder & CEO
Lynda Guiney
Lynda’s background is rooted in high-level finance and complex project delivery. At a leading private equity firm in Switzerland, she worked across fund-of-funds structures, managing investor reporting, cash flow forecasting, audits and US tax compliance, while liaising with global investment teams.
Before that, at F&C Property Asset Management in London, she analysed pan-European property investments, building valuation and forecasting models, assessing risk, and supporting fund strategy and acquisitions.
The origin of Swiss Strength came from a far more personal place. While living in Switzerland, Lynda set out to build a home gym and quickly found that sourcing the right equipment, understanding quality, and making confident decisions was far more complex than expected. That process exposed a gap between premium products and genuinely informed guidance.
Swiss Strength was born from that moment. Today, Lynda brings that same financial discipline and clarity to every project, ensuring each space is not only beautifully executed, but commercially and structurally sound from the ground up.

Co-Founder & COO
James Guiney
James’s background combines engineering, systems thinking, and elite-level coaching education. After studying maths, further maths, physics and technology at A-level, he went on to study Electronic Engineering with AI at the University of Southampton, developing the broad systems-based approach that still underpins the way Swiss Strength approaches gym design and performance today.
Alongside his studies, James competed at a high level in both chess and American football, eventually shifting his focus toward strength and athletic performance while at university. It was through training in a specialist performance facility that he was first exposed to advanced coaching systems, biomechanics, and premium strength equipment, sparking a deeper obsession with training and gym design.
That pursuit of knowledge led into years of continued professional development, private mentorships, and specialist coaching education. James is one of only a small number of Level 3 KILO coaches worldwide, part of an internationally respected coaching system with fewer than 25 coaches globally at that level.
Together with Linda’s financial and strategic background, that combination of engineering, coaching, and real-world installation experience became the foundation of Swiss Strength: a business built around intelligent design, problem solving, and performance without compromise.
